Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (S.E.N.D.)
Abberley Parochial V.C. Primary School is a mainstream school which values and promotes a fully inclusive and rich learning environment for all children including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. (S.E.N.D.) Through high quality teaching and learning, we embrace resilience and independence, whilst encouraging creativity and curiosity.
All Worcestershire schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with a Special Educational Needs being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible, where families want this to happen.
In keeping with the new SEND reform the Local Offer from Worcestershire County Council can be found below.
The local offer covers:
- Support available to all children with SEN or disability in school
- Targeted support for children with SEN or disability who require additional short term support over and above that provided routinely as part of normal school entitlement
- Specialist services for children with SEN or disability who require specialised, longer term support.
