We looked at the Marauders' Map from Harry Potter for inspiration, as the map uses words to create the shapes on the map, we particularly liked the Whomping Willow made out of the word 'willow' repeated over and over. Merlins worked extremely hard on their maps, thinking carefully about how to use typography to make their maps visually interesting and informative. It was so much fun that even Miss Larner had to have a go and make one!
