Well-being
At Abberley Primary School, we are dedicated to supporting the well-being of every pupil by fostering a positive and caring environment. We prioritise emotional health through our PSHE curriculum by promoting resilience, kindness, and self-awareness. This includes mindfulness techniques such as breathing, awareness exercises and visualisation activities.
We have an active well-being pupil-led values group who organise whole school mindful events and promote well-being at playtimes by providing activities in our designated well-being area.
We also have a pastoral lead who works daily with pupils if they require more 1:1 bespoke support.
Our staff are trained to recognise and address the diverse needs of children, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and heard. We encourage open communication, and incorporate social-emotional learning into our curriculum. By working closely with families and the wider community, we strive to create a supportive network that nurtures the overall well-being of our students, helping them thrive both academically and personally.
