Friday 15th May
Happy Friday Skylarks.
Spellings: Either log onto J2E and test yourself with your weekly spellings or ask an adult to test you. Remember to try your hardest and use your best handwriting. Keep practising your handwriting joins and letter sizes. I want to see tall letters tall and small letters small once we return to school.
Common exception spellings: I have downloaded a word search for you to practise finding your weekly spellings or see if you can trace the words using your finger on the screen.
Suffix spellings: Children who have been working on suffixes, have a go at reading this passage and see if you can spot my mistakes. Look carefully at the spellings and you may have to change some words as they are not the correct English vocabulary.
English: Hopefully you have created your own story based on 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth' by Michelle Robinson & Kate Hindley. If it is possible to share it with me, I'm sure you all know how to use J2E for uploading by now ( if not Friday 3rd April has a video clip to show you). I would love to read your finished stories.
If you want an extra English activity today then play this game to see how good your English understanding is. What belt can you achieve?

Maths: Watch and learn about related facts.
Activity : Complete the activity questions from todays' video. Either copy and complete or download PDF below.
If these questions are too easy try these challenges. After you have solved them, mark your own work as I have put the answers in PDF below.
Weekly Art Activity: Have you heard of the artist Andy Goldsworthy?
Andy Goldsworthy (born 26 July 1956) is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptures and land art situated in natural and urban settings. He lives and works in Scotland. For information about him have a look at this site for children... https://www.kidzworld.com/article/29663-andy-goldsworthy-the-art-of-nature
If you type Andy Goldsworthy in Google and search images you will see lots of examples of his work and how other artists have been inspired by his work.
Activity: Have a careful look around your home and see what natural objects you can find to create a piece of artwork inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. Here are a couple that Monty did while he was in school with me yesterday.
Have a super sunshine weekend.
