School Uniform
School uniform and appearance information
School uniform is an important part of school tradition in Britain and brings unity to a school, providing a sense of belonging and allows children to focus on their learning. Pupils are expected to arrive at school in appropriate uniform and to maintain this throughout the day. All items of clothing should be NAMED with a permanent label. Our uniform is provided by Boarder embroideries: https://www.border-embroideries.co.uk/schools/abberley-primary-school.html and parents can have the choice of purchasing new uniform from our provider or we have a well-stocked re-cycled school uniform shop located in the school office.

Coats
School coats are available. However, a suitably warm coat of parent’s choice or the school coat should be worn to school in the autumn and spring terms and on cooler or rainy days in the summer term. Children will go out to play in inclement weather and are required to have coats in school, especially throughout the autumn and spring terms.
Shoes
Black shoes should be worn to school. It is expected that these will be of a smart appearance. Laced, velcro and buckle straps are all suitable.
Book bags
Children have the option to bring their reading books to school using an Abberley-named book bag and then take it home each evening to allow teachers and support staff to change reading books and communicate through pupil diaries. Children may choose to keep their book in their back-pack instead.
Earrings Children who have had their ears pierced can wear a small stud earring or a pair of earrings to school. These must be removed for PE.
Make-up Children should not wear make-up to school or apply make-up in school.
Back packs and lunch boxes Storage space in school is limited. Therefore a small lunch box or backpack should be used to store pupil’s lunch for those who bring a packed lunch to school.
Non-compliance
If your child does not have the appropriate uniform due to extenuating circumstances, please inform the class teacher of the reason. Parents whose children attend school without appropriate uniform and with no notification from parents, will receive communication from the head teacher.
